Who is @irishrovers?

Who am I? I don't know...

Actually I do, and I'd be glad to tell you! I've been involved in MMOs for years. I've done everything from WoW, to APB, to STO, to CoH, to Drakensang, to Firefall, to DayZ, to PW, to AoW, to... heck just about anything. I find MMOs to be a fascinating social experiment. Each MMO's community has developed in a unique individual way. For example, anyone who plays STO will know that chat channels play an important role in end-game. To get a good STF group, or to obtain access to Elite Fleet weapons, or find DOFF missions, you need to be part of a channel dedicated to that. However, in WoW, being in a good guild is the solution to all of your problems. In WoW, I had the distinct pleasure of being a member of the first ever level 25 ALL GNOME guild. Now, this may not seem like much, but just organizing a guild made exclusively of one race... and that race being only gnomes, is an astronomical task. (Which, by the way, is one of the least popular races in the game.) Then, get that guild to max level, which in itself is a huge accomplishment. We had a lot of fun times, but what I learned from that experience is that MMOs are truly a social experiment. Seeing how people behave and commune in an online experience is fascinating. In return, I hope this blog can give some assistance to the social evolution of STO specifically.

In STO my handle is @irishrovers. Feel free to contact me in game! Also, friend me on Steam under the name "Irish." If you want to show off your outfits and your character, send me your Character Name, Handle, and .jpg screenshot of your character! Looking forward to all of us working on this cool project to show off our pimpin looks!

Irish Out.
